Matthew Chang, Founder and Principal of Chang Robotics, joins the AI Frontlines panel as part of this year's Jax Tech Fest.
To wrap up Jax Tech Fest 2025, TEDx Jacksonville hosted a panel at the Terry Concert Hall on the Jacksonville University campus. The panel consisted of a diverse mix of speakers from all fields to discuss the ever-present use of Artificial Intelligence in our workforce as well as insights on how to capitalize on it moving forward.
Panelists included:
🚀 Andrew Rush - Space Industrialist, President/CEO, Star Catcher
⛳️ Scott Gutterman - Senior VP Digital & Broadcast Technologies, PGA TOUR
👩💻 Katie Blackwell - Vice President, NLP Logix
💸 Brenton Farwell - Senior Technology Executive, Bank of America
🤖 Matthew Chang, PE - Principal & Founder, Chang Robotics
📚 Josh Gellers - Faculty Fellow for Artificial Intelligence, University of North Florida
🩺 Matthew Thompson, MD - CEO, Telescope Health
🎤 Matt Berseth (Moderator) - Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer, NLP Logix

Each of the panelists discussed how they leverage AI within their own industries. Many panelists shared their perspective on how Artificial Intelligence will shape the workforce in the future. Matthew Chang remarked that although AI has been around for a long time, he believes we are at the beginning of the AI bubble, and businesses should capitalize on it while it remains relatively affordable and accessible. Academic panelist Josh Gellers shared his experience of how AI is changing the way that teachers teach and students learn. Remarking that teachers who refuse to adapt and change their course style might be better off retiring so as not to do their students a disservice.

It was a lively conversation and resulted in dozens of audience questions, including remarks on the sustainability of AI and how to train the young workforce in this new era. Matthew Chang had answers to both of the prompts. He stated that, even as an avid user and promoter of AI, he has seen the data centers in Milwaukee and does not want them in his backyard; he's happy for Wisconsin to bear that burden for the rest of us. As for the young workforce, at Chang Robotics, he is looking for engineers who are fluent in the language of AI, but who are also motivated and not afraid of hard work. As much as AI can assist, young workers still need to have the determination to persevere and work hard until the job is done.
Matthew’s participation in the TEDx Jacksonville panel was a fitting way to close out a week of Jax Tech Fest, bringing together leaders from across industries to share candid perspectives on where AI is headed next. At Chang Robotics, AI is not just a topic of discussion but a tool we use every day to advance the future of automation. As Matthew noted, it’s a tool that will continue to advance incrementally throughout our lives, and one we’re committed to using responsibly.
