Recap
In December of each year, Chang Industrial hosts our team members for a workshop style conference (Christmas themed, of course), a "state of the business" meeting, team bonding excursions, and a celebration for all of our hard work and accomplishments throughout the year.
This year we hosted our conference at Margaritaville overlooking the beautiful beaches and city of Jacksonville Beach. We brought in many guests to lead our workshops which we will feature in this article. We then hosted our celebration at Southern Kitchen with delicious food and beverages overlooking the ocean, followed by a in-shore fishing excursion the next day.
Conference
Our workshop style conference included many great speakers.
Our first speaker was William J. Montford, PhD, the Jessie Ball duPont Chair of Business and Assistant Professor of Marketing at Jacksonville University. Montford presented on consumer behavior, psychology, financial decisions, and having a growth mindset vs. a fixed mindset.
Our second speaker was Nathan Fabrick, Vice President of Corporate Development with National Land Real Estate. Fabrick presented on the next generation of real estate technology. He conducted his workshop by doing a case study of site selection using data and mapping.
Next, Dr. Tim Wei, Principal and Founder of Transformational Food Manufacturing Initiative, led a workshop about his experience with research and development. Dr. Wei has over 30 years experience as a researcher, educator, higher education administrator, and leader in government relations. Dr. Wei presented on the needed changes in the R&D industry in an era of disruptive change. We were challenged to start thinking in a way that fills the gap between university research and industry development.
Our very own, Kate McAfoose, partner at Chang Industrial and Capital Programs Manager, led a workshop on fundraising and implications for new initiatives.
Another one of our workshops was hosted by brand marketing consultant and graphic designer, Tiffani Armstead.
In this workshop, we focused on brand development, new brand concepts, and an interactive session to define our strengthens and service offerings.
We also had a guest visit from Dr. Don Capener, Associate Dean of the Woodbury School of Business and Associate Provost of Utah Valley University. Dr. Capener shared his insights and encouragement as he has been a close friend to Chang Industrial from the beginning.
Lastly, our Chang Industrial Marketing Manager, Karigan Cannon, hosted an interactive personality science workshop to help increase team connectivity and empower understanding and personal growth.
Thankful
Chang Industrial is incredibly thankful for all of the growth and accomplishments we experienced as a team, a company, and as individuals in 2021. Big things accomplished with big things to come! As we enter into the new year, we celebrate what has been and we look forward to what is to come.
